Hope for a Seeker

The Lord may hide his face for a season from his people, but he never has
utterly, finally, really, or angrily forsaken them that seek him. Let the poor
seekers draw comfort from this fact, and let the finders rejoice yet more
exceedingly, for what must be the Lord's faithfulness to those who find if he is
so gracious to those who seek.

"O hope of every contrite
heart,

O joy of all themeek,
those who fall how kind thou art,

How good to those who seek.

"But what to those who find, ah, this

Nor tongue nor pen can show

The love of Jesus what it is,

None but his loved ones know."
Charles H. Spurgeon

Beyond the Blue

Lead me far above the clouds…
Far from any trace of worldly existence.
Out to where the clouds are topped only by God's
wondrous and seemingly endless blue.
All so I can renew
an old faith.

Drifting slowly out toward the horizon
Emitting silent tranquillity…
an air of amazement controls.
The body loses weight and the mind
is bewildered by a massive display of space.

I enjoy the solitude.
All men should set aside
time examining the mind.
Should not a man exist for some
special impact rather than just routine.

Not so hard on oneself, however for
Indeed--worldly patterns often preclude
differences which produce individualism
and adventure.
Expand the mind to produce deafening sounds…
even as no words are even spoken.

One should study himself and his goals
grasping at even the most distant star.
For just as we deem God's sky endless…
So go the goals of man.
