Patience of the Weaver...

“The Weaver”

The Weaver
weaves a web
In life.
He makes a home
To dwell
And snare.

The weaver sews the thread
Each day..
Seldom does he roam...
for his work is steady
and done with care.

The weaver holds tightly.
Only a lost prey he bemoans
He’s unseen but ready...
Never slothful to prepare…
for the catch
Is coming.
The catch is unsteady.
The catch is not prepared…
This is shared.

In patience he
Quietly goes about the chore…
As evidenced by a prolific trap.
We...as the separated are no less…no more
Using no tracking map
To enter a day
Where demands seem forthright…
But never free.

The patience of God
Carries Him from one web to another…
On a mission of cut…and release.
A long suffering that
Comes as a gift…no works or even please…lest any man
Claim might or right…
Only a claiming in a spirit of…love…
While we wait...
Let us move forward with patience
Given by the Holy Spirit.

..."while the dew is still on the Roses"...

As the hour of his death drew nearer, Jesus went with his disciples to pray in the garden of Gethsemane.

Lest we forget !

Memorial Day Prayer...

Soldier, rest! Thy warfare o'er,
Sleep the sleep that knows not breaking,
Dream of battled fields no more.
Days of danger, nights of waking.
-Sir Walter Scott

In the tangle of the fast pace...
and rat race...
of even a day off.
Let us make a celebration of courage...
one marked red, white and blue.
Even only a short moment of reflection
held for those who...
have found freedom’s door
and live no more...
in the shadow of tyranny.
A respite of peace
provided for us fortunate ones
by the deceased brave.
A concave
of all we stand for in America.
A testimony to a fortress of loyal spirit
that allows us choice...
that provides for us a security and sense of pride.
Even that we present ourselves this morning
as believers in the God of all nations...
let us be thankful for those who have preserved ours.
Those for whom flowers
can be laid..
and prayers relayed.
But mostly hearts can be released.

Thanks Be to God
for those men and women of conviction and courage.

Amen and Amen

Happy Mother's Day

A Mother Who Cares....

There is no store made caring
          n0  invention of man
that can
match the love...
of a Mother.

There is no other sharing
            no contention that stands
the test
of the love...
of a Mother.

There is no heart as tearing
            no caressing hand
that holds
as that...
of a loving Mother.

And there simply is no preparing...
            no group that can band
together to
match the package
of  a Mother.

Ours has in truest form
            stepped aside from the norm
and as each child and grown man.
finds no other Mother quite like his own...
and indeed...that is the way God planned it.

For all you have done
            for all that you mean.
For all the true love
            above all we could convey.
We lift you up in honor
            on this OUR....Mother’s...Day.

“A Potter’s Place”

Isaiah 64:8 (New International Version)

8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Ne're shall we forget the potter and the vine.
Ne're shall we distract from His Glory...

The fields are filling
with the green of Spring.
The trees hold full
with branches worn by winter's ware.
The showers to follow
The flowers to bloom
Not too soon
ForThose
Who mark the early morn
find an ease beyond January...
An opening Summer reborn
from past scattered seed...
All meeting the need

for one seeking a cleansing rain...
a gentle breeze
and the beauty of a single rose.

Good Friends !

A Time for Quiet...

How Important are Friendships to You?

Perhaps the greatest example of friendship we have in the Bible is David and Jonathan. They made a covenant with one another and throughout their lives protected and loved each other deeply. When Jonathan died, David said “Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.”
They had an intense friendship. An enviable one too. After all, who wouldn’t want a friend that would defend you even in the face of death?

There are...those who care.
Those who are so willing to help
ones in need.

They send a message of support
And comfort
Accompanied by a continuous
Attitude of duty
And an exemplary propensity to share.

Those Who Care
form the foundation for successful efforts.
but not by notoriety.
They are the foundation by faith
and not by position.
They hold true to form...
far and above the norm...
but not that you would so easily notice.

Those who care
have no hidden agenda.
Their reason for acting
is consistent with their Maker.
Compassion has no century
nor has it any boundaries.

Yes, there are those who care...
wishing not for the stars..
but for the surrounding clouds.
For you see
help is most needed when
the light is dimmed...
and answers seem galaxies away.
I am so glad you came my way
and I thank God for those......like you
who truly do....care.

A Time for Quiet...

Have you found that quiet place...
I hope you will.

I hope it’s quiet and still.
everybit as real...
as the sun.

Have you spent that special moment.
I hope you do.
With someone who
is among the very few....
who become as one.

Have you held that unique partner
I hope today
And that you’ll say
words that come the way...
Of the heart.

Have you sought the solace of morn
I hope this sunrise.
And that your caring eyes
Will thus surmise...
The canvas of the painter...God.

And then as light comes forth...
A new feeling sets within...
One you yearn to share or send...

Something special...a loving thought.

A Safe Place to Rest...

When it all finds its way south

and doubt
runs rampant through the mind...
i find
a time for quiet.

When it all seems further north
and I'm back and forth
with thoughts of every kind...
i find
a time for quiet.

When it all holds east or west
and my best
still leaves me far behind
i find
a time for quiet.
                                                                           O God
I'm still
Thrill...
me with Your voice...in my heart.
Impart
what I need for this day.
Protect me from evil
and help me stay
within Your Will...
a safe place to rest.
