A Time for Quiet...

How Important are Friendships to You?


Perhaps the greatest example of friendship we have in the Bible is David and Jonathan. They made a covenant with one another and throughout their lives protected and loved each other deeply. When Jonathan died, David said “Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.”
They had an intense friendship. An enviable one too. After all, who wouldn’t want a friend that would defend you even in the face of death?

Lord,

thank you for loving... Christian friends.

Thank you that so many times I read books and think of them.

So many times old memories brighten my day.

So many times words of encouragement come to mind

and I find...consolation.

So many times past experiences bring a call to service

and provide just the need for another.

Storms are weathered

       and challenges faced

with the help and prayers of those placed...

timely in lives.

Whence

      the thought

of those who care

       outweighs the full measure

of circumstance

and leads to the treasure...

of Christian friends.
